Installation of chimney guards to prevent birds such as Jackdaws, Gulls, and Pigeons from nesting or falling down chimney pots.
If the pots are no longer in use, we can also cap them to stop rainwater and insects from getting in.
Always used as a last resort when other proofing methods are not possible or practicable, the physical removal of birds by either trapping or shooting is always carried out in strict compliance with the Wildlife & Countryside 1981 Act general licenses.
Trapping will consist of placing a metal cage trap containing food and water for the pigeons. A number of visits will be carried out during the following weeks, where trapped pigeons are removed and food and water are replaced. The programme will take a number of weeks, and visits will be timed to be in full compliance with the law.
Shooting is not an effective way of dealing with a large pigeon problem, though it can be used to selectively target small populations, particularly when they have entered buildings. As with trapping, it is only used as a last resort and only used when other deterrent methods are not possible. Please note that these methods only apply to pigeons.
PVC curtain strip doors can be installed to prevent birds gaining access to areas where doors are left open all the time. This is especially useful for areas like warehouses, loading bays, and fire escapes.
